Welcome to Commander Clay
Karin Csernohorski is an independent German-Austrian Director and Video Artist, working interdisciplinarily in the fields of scenography, model making, concept & illustration, and stop motion animation.
Specializing in the use of clay, she brings an organic, handcrafted feel and strong structures and contrasts to her cinematographic works. By combining a wide range of post-digital and analog design techniques, she creates surreal worlds and experimental visual effects.
Karin Csernohorski's films have been screened at festivals around the world. Her work has earned numerous awards, including the "CINE ART AWARD 2012" for screenwriting and cinematic artistry. She was also honored with a "Künstlerhaus Vienna Award" for her 10-minute stop-motion film Birthmark and was nominated for the ZKM Fellowship for both her live-action video "Black & White" and her experimental film "schwarzes Heu".
